Start with clean, dry eyelashes. Open the mascara tube and carefully remove the wand, wiping off any excess product on the rim of the tube to prevent clumps. Hold the wand horizontally and place it at the base of your upper lashes. Wiggle the wand back and forth slightly as you sweep it upward toward the tips of your lashes, coating them evenly with mascara. For added volume and length, you can apply additional coats, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. Use the tip of the wand to coat the smaller lashes in the inner and outer corners of your eyes. Avoid pumping the wand in and out of the tube, as this can introduce air and dry out the mascara faster. If you make any mistakes or get mascara on your skin, wait for it to dry completely before gently wiping it away with a cotton swab. Finish by applying mascara to your lower lashes if desired.
